What to expect
If you have never been to Piney Green before, here is what a Sunday morning looks like. No surprises, and nothing you need to prepare.
Where to park, and which door
There is parking on the property, and you can leave your car anywhere there is room. Come in through the front doors. The entrance is at ground level, with no steps to manage.
What people wear
You will see everything from a suit to a clean pair of jeans. Some of our members dress up out of long habit and some do not. Wear what you are comfortable in. Nobody is going to look twice.
Will I have to stand up and introduce myself?
No. We are glad when visitors come, and someone will likely say hello and shake your hand on the way in or out, but you will not be asked to stand, speak, or fill anything in. You are welcome to sit, listen, and leave without saying a word to anyone.
How long the service runs
Sunday School begins at 9:00 in the morning and morning worship at 10:00. Worship usually runs a little over an hour. Some Sundays run longer than others, and nobody minds if you need to slip out.
What happens in the service
Singing, prayer, and preaching from the Word. Hymnals and Bibles are in the pews, and the songs are announced, so you can follow along without knowing anything in advance.
Children
Children are welcome in the service. Sunday School has classes for every age before worship, in the fellowship hall and the adjoining rooms. If your child gets restless during worship, that is all right — ours do too.
Still have a question?
Call the church, or write to us, and someone will answer plainly.
